The Day after Halloween

The Day After Halloween

The day after Halloween
I’ll answer the bell no more.
Oh, the candy’s delightfully gone
And the frightful kids
Who roamed the night
Can nowhere be seen
Like the witch and her broom
Spooked by the light of the dawn.

And the Pumpkin I left
At the front door,
You know,
The one with a crooked smile,
That greeted the kids
Who asked for a treat,
Is smashed in the street…

The trick of Tommie, Susie, or Joe
