The World is Going to Hell
The news on the television is bad., bad, bad. There is conflict and war everywhere. And it is not getting better.
When was nine or ten (memories are not always reliable) he went to a friend’s house where he was greeted at the door by the friend’s mother.
The always polite young Oz said, “How are you Mrs. So-and-so?” Adults, seen through the eyes of a young child, can be quite frightening.
She replying, “The world is going to hell in a hand-basket and I am pushing it.”
Oz still remembers that moment when for the first time he learned the world is going to hell.
